info for reporters, producers and contributors
The Health Show is always looking for solid stories and ideas. If you'd like to pitch a story idea, we'd like to hear it... with a few guidelines:
» Please email your story proposal or draft script to contact [at] healthshow [dot] org. Have your text in the body of the e-mail, no attachments. No calls or faxes, please.
» If you're sending a proposal, please keep it short. Let us know why you think the story is important to our national audience, and tell us how you will be telling the story.
» If you are sending a draft script, please transcribe your audio cuts and provide a description of any natural sound to be included.
» If an audio file of your story is posted somewhere on the Internet, send along the URL.
» What's your ETA? When will the story be ready?
» All final scripts are subject to editorial approval by the producers. Stories are to be delivered produced and ready for air on CD, DAT or digital file. We reserve the right to edit the final product for time.
info for publicists
We understand you have a tough job. Here are a few tips for sending us a more effective pitch/story idea:
» Email us. Here's the address: contact [at] healthshow [dot] org. Please send your pitches to this address only. It will catch the biggest number of eyeballs this way. Really.
» We do not open attachments. It's our IT guy's rule and, frankly, we're afraid of him. Also, we prefer text mail over html mail.
» Please, do not call us. Email really is the most efficient way for this sort of communication. If we're interested, we'll get back to you.
» You probably shouldn't fax us, either. They get sorted very quickly here and most end up in the recycling bin. Again, email is the way to go. If there's something you absolutely have to fax us, send us an email to let us know it'll be arriving.
